Activity Circle for Adults With Special Needs

Bowling

This 16-hour course is designed for Special Needs adults to introduce the game of bowling. Emphasis is to instruct students in the concepts of addition, subtraction, and coin recognition using bowling as the forum. Students will learn how to use a vending machine with appropriate coins. Students will learn to add and calculate numbers. Students will learn to operate computerized score keeping equipment. Students will use skills learned in the work environment. Students will use knowledge of coin recognition for transportation to and from the work place and to operate vending machines and public telephones.

This 32-hour course for persons needing learning supports will include; Gathering personal information for resumes and references, completion of job applications, practicing interviewing skills, techniques and a job shadowing experience at a clinical site.

Friday Night Social Club for Adults With Special Needs

Jazzy Jewelry Making for Special Needs

Meal Matinee

This three and one half hour course offers students a social experience which includes a meal followed by a movie matinee. This class will improve upon participation and social skills. The main theme and objectives of the movie will be discussed at the conclusion of the movie.
