Community Resurces and Supports for Seniors

This two-hour course is designed to provide information on various community-based organizations that offer health and social services supports to older adults. Participants will gain practical knowledge about the variety and scope of resources available to help seniors in meeting their needs for health services, medical and recreational therapy, transportation and other supports with daily living activities. Discussion will include information about specific community-based non-profit organizations that provide such supports, as well as program eligibility requirements and application procedures. Learning will be accomplished through traditional classroom lecture and discussion. The target audience for this training is staff and caregivers who support seniors.
