Hand Tools and Basic Machining
Learn the fundamentals of safe and effective manual machining- measure twice, cut once. This hands-on class introduces the use of precision hand tools, calipers, micrometers, files, and layout tools alongside basic machine shope operations such as drilling, tapping, cutting, and finishing. Students will complete small take home projects while gaining a foundation in measurement, material removal, lathe, saw, and drill operation, and shop safety practices.
