Risk Management for Nursing Home Administration

This course is designed to provide the student with the basic skills and knowledge to plan, implement, and evaluate employee health and safety programs. A review and discussion of the Federal rules governing employee benefits, insurance, workers compensations, and employment compensation. The student will be able to analyze the fire and disaster programs and identify methods of protection of residents, staff, and property. The student will learn how to develop a safety plans that will measure the health, welfare, and safety of residents, staff, and visitors. The student will be able to recognize in-house emergencies, as well as community emergency resources to utilize. They will be able to demonstrate how emergency procedures are utilized in a nursing home setting.
