Regulations and Policies
This course is designed to review and discuss the major legislationand state laws governing the effective operation of a nursing home. Some of the legislation to be discussed are: OBRA; Medicare and Medicaid; OSHA and HCFA; and civil rights laws. Knowledge and understanding of these state laws and legislation allows the student to correctly assess the legal liability issues in a typical nursing home situation. The Patients Bill of Rights will be presented and discussed.
