Drawing, Pastels
This course explores drawing with color while using pastels as the medium to teach various techniques. Learn to achieve a balance of light and dark in pictures and learn to establish middle tones using colored papers that are traditional for pastels. Experience working on interesting surfaces like velour and sandpaper. For the first class bring an assortment of colored pastel papers at least 9x12 (include white), kneaded and vinyl erasers, pastels recommended, a good quality square, pastel assortment (ie: Prisma color, Grumbacher). Other materials to be discussed at the first class. Previous exposure to color theory or the Basic Color Theory course is strongly recommend.
