Floristry Basic and Advanced Training
Do you love flowers? Consider a career or take this class to explore your interest in the floral industry. This 10-week entry-level program will prepare you for the ever-growing, ever-exciting field of floral design. Students will learn essential floral design practices, concepts, and techniques and will receive a certificate of completion. Supplies needed: knife for cutting floral foam, oasis foam for fresh arrangements, container for storing items, glue gun/glue sticks to match size of glue gun, glue pad, green Oasis tape 1/4" and clear Oasis tape 1/4", green stem wrap, wooden picks with wire (to add to stem length), Spanish moss, moss pins, 24-gauge spool wire, jointed wire cutters, scissors, pipe stem cleaners, silk flowers and greens for first arrangement. For the first few sessions, artificial flowers are recommended. As students' progress, fresh flowers can be used. Please bring all unopened items to the first day of class (it is recommended to save your receipts just in case you must return items).
