Emergency Medical Responder

This course provides foundation knowledge in emergency medical care and is intended for first responders in emergency service, firefighters, industry or private settings. Topics include CPR, AED, airway and ventilation, oxygen administration, bleeding control, splinting, bandaging and medical emergencies. The course will include classroom sessions and skill labs and requires a clinical rotation in a hospital or other approved facility. Students must complete the free FEMA Independent Study Course for NIMS100 and 700 online as a Co-requisite to this course. Students who successfully complete this course will be eligible to take PA Department of Health and/or National Registry certification exams for Emergency Medical Responder.
