Introduction to Windows and Internet

This 30-hour course introduces the student to MS Windows and the Internet. The student will identify hardware and software components and will learn to use dialog boxes, menus, toolbars and scrollbars. The student will execute commands using the mouse as well as shortcut keys. The student will use Windows Explorer and My Computer to manage files. The student will learn the latest in data storage including proper maintenance and learn to create new folders while managing files using copy, delete and move features. The student will use email and practice sending attachments. Organization of the World Wide Web and Internet will be discussed along with its basic features. The student will practice searching the Web for valuable and practical information. Harmful downloads from the WWW will also be discussed as well as the ethical use of the email and Internet.
