Dsp Quarterly Program

This three-hour program will provide participants with a unique opportunity to gain a fuller understanding of their professional and personal roles as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and for the contributions they make to the lives of the people they support. Students will learn more about personal boundaries, ethical considerations and setting healthy boundaries. The importance of using empathy to connect and strategies for overcoming barriers to positive engagement will be stressed. Other current positive practices that can be used to support and empower individuals with intellectual disability will also be discussed. The target audiences for this training are direct support professionals and other support staff in the MR/ID field.
