Role of the Government for Nursing Home Administrators
This course will provide the student with the knowledge to identify the government agencies involved in determing regulatory standards for long-term care facilities. The role of the Department of Health will be examined in terms of providing regulations for licensure. Legal liability issues and state laws pertaining to typical nursing home situations are discussed. The legislative process as it pertains to new laws that protect residents and families will be analyzed.
