Rehabilitation and Recreation for Nursing Home Administrators

This course will prepare the student with the skills and knowledge to identify the basic rehabilitative needs of the aged resident and define the role of the rehabilitation team. The course will help the students to identify components and requirements of care plan development to meet the resident needs, then formulate and adapt the care to meet the needs. It will prepare the student to develop plans for determing equipment needs, purchase and delivery. The role of the exercise physiologist, physical occupational and recreation therapist will be discussed in terms of their therapeutic value within the context of a long-term nursing facility.
