Massage for Ages & Stages

This course is designed for the massage therapist interested in bringing therapeutic touch to a broad range of people with specific needs - from tiny infants to frail elders and many others for whom conventional massage may cause discomfort or even tissue injury. Building upon basic massage skills and knowledge, this course will enhance your confidence and ability to practice therapeutically in a variety of settings, including hospice, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and even your clients' homes. Participants will learn techniques that are safe, appropriate and effective for children with special needs such as autism, teens who may be experiencing anxiety or depression, adults living in stressful situations and those who live with post traumatic stress symptoms. By opening your awareness and understanding to the physical and emotional needs of those suffering from chronic illness and/or injury, you may significantly increase the treatment options available to you in a variety of treatment settings while providing nurturing touch to those who need it most.
